Some problems only become visible when they land: the failure, the shortfall, the customer already gone. By then the cost is booked and the week is spoken for. Cleanup is honest work, but it buys back nothing.
The gap
The pattern I keep meeting is that the warning existed. It sat in data the company was already collecting, weeks before the problem surfaced, unread. Reading it by hand would have been a full-time job nobody was hired to do.
The shape of the fix
A watcher: a system that reads the right signals for one specific kind of problem, continuously, and raises its hand while there is still time to act. I have built these more than once now. Each one moved a team from cleaning up to getting ahead, and each one looked nothing like the last, because the signals are always particular to the business.
Why the details are thin
On purpose. A system that sees trouble early is an edge, and the particulars stay with the clients they belong to. If you want to know whether your problem has a readable warning, that is a conversation, not a blog post.
